It's time for The 4th Annual Whitehorse Hootenanny!

Join us for another epic fun-filled day of Entertainment, Contests, Reenactments and Great Times in the Old West!

Festivities begin at noon on SATURDAY, MAY 13th and go on till Sunday morning at the infamous Whitehorse Ranch in Landers, CA.

  • The Chicken Run! - Bet on your favorite live chicken as contestants coerce their birds all the way down Main Street to the finish line.
  • Poker, Faro & Hazard! - Play for fun, or cash in to a friendly winner-takes-all Texas Hold 'Em tournament ($20 buy-in), or a quick game at the Dealer's Choice table.
  • Feather-Bag Fisticuffs! - Challenge anybody to a coffee sack pillow-brawl atop a hitching post. First to knock off their opponent wins.
  • Tivoli Club Lounge! - Experience Top Shelf Spirits and Libations served in the now fully operational and historic upscale saloon.
  • Bucky the Barrel Bronco! - Kids and adults alike will love our new spring-loaded riding and shooting game!

LUNCH at NOON - Chili Cook-Off!  

Served with Cornbread and Greens. Veggie chili available. If you want to enter your kick-ass recipe in the contest, just let us know ahead of time and plan to bring it in a crock-pot. Entrants contact us at: 


DINNER at 6:30pm - Taco Bar!

All you can eat chicken, pig and cow, with plenty of rice, beans and grilled veggie options.


BREAKFAST at 9am - Cowboy Continental!

Burritos made to order with fruit, bagels and muffins on Sunday morning, served with coffee and juice.


SNACKS - Chips n' salsa and other bar snacks served throughout the day and night, with late-night surprise treats for all you filthy nocturnal party animals.


DRINKS - A selection of beers on tap, tequila, whisky, wine and water, with lemonade and sarsaparilla. Bring cash to try the Top Shelf selections available in the newly refurbished Tivoli Club. Remember to tip your bartenders!

$100 = 1 Citizen Entry Ticket, includes Costume Rental (see details below) and Limited Edition Souvenir Mug and 1 Tivoli Club Drink Token

* KIDS are welcome until sundown!  Age 12 and under are FREE!


Period Attire Required (Contemporary Western Wear acceptable). Steampunk always welcome. No baseball caps, logos, t-shirts, tennis shoes, etc. allowed on Main Street, or you will be shot.


$30 pre-paid.  If you plan to rent from the ranch, you...

  • MUST PRE-PAY FOR COSTUME RENTAL ONLINE with your ticket purchase.  

And you...

  • MUST ARRIVE SATURDAY MORNING (or Friday evening) for your fitting.  

The Wardrobe Trailer will closed at noon Saturday, unless you are already checked in and in line. By purchasing your rental online, your name will go on the Costume Rental Check-In List and you will be sent an email confirmation from Hootenanny Staff.  

*NOTE:  Unscheduled, non pre-paid costume rental on the day-of is $60/person, cash only, availability not guaranteed and you will be last in line. Costumes are first come first served, prioritized by date of purchase and arrival time to the ranch.

*NOTE:  Wardrobe does have boots, but sizes are somewhat limited. Bringing your own footwear is recommended, but not necessary.



All attendees MUST sign a standard liability waiver upon arrival to enter the property. Please review liability terms below.



On-site camping is welcome and encouraged. Park your RV or pitch a tent in the sand parking lot upon arrival. Period encampments are welcome to set up within eyeshot of Main Street. Wash station and outhouses provided. RVs are welcome, but remember: NO hookups or dumping onsite.

All guests may arrive Friday afternoon/evening, but...

*NOTE: Horses are welcome overnight, as long as owners stay onsite. Secure corral available.




Quickdraw Championship

Think you're fast? Wanna find out? If you'd like to compete, you'll need to provide your own smoke iron and rig (or beg for one) and you MUST be approved by the Mayor of Whitehorse on the day. You must also be in attendance from 1pm till dusk, unless eliminated from the contest earlier. Our two finalists will compete on Main Street at sundown. Winner takes all.

Performances and Entertainment

There will be numerous musicians, magicians, riders, ropers and reenactors to help bring your immersive experience to life.

(Tips for your performers are always appreciated.)


Main Street Races, Games and Contests

Just sign up on the day, beginning at lunch. Many new prizes are being awarded this year. Again, if you plan to enter the Chili Cook-Off, email us ahead'a time:

Poker and Casino Games

Bring cash to exchange for chips and try your luck at the Texas Hold 'Em or Dealer's Choice Poker tables. $20 buy-in for tournament.

Wanna play just for fun? Then try out classic Faro or Hazard, all offered this year in the legendary Whitehorse Saloon.

Remember to tip your dealers!

(*NOTE - DO NOT USE GPS for the old “Garrison Ln” address, or you'll end up in the sand. The new address, “Whitehorse Road”, seems to work perfect on Google Maps. Consider PRINTING these directions, in case you do not have cell service.)

From Yucca Valley, take Hwy 247 North (Old Woman Springs Rd) for 16 miles.

Turn right on BODICK RD. (dirt road, hand made sign). 

Go down about 3.5 miles and you'll see the WHITEHORSE RANCH sign in the driveway on your right.

When you enter at the front gate, turn to the left at the church and park in the clearing. Check in with the attendant at the church to receive your souvenir beer mug!

You may set up tents anywhere near the parking area. Period encampments may set up within eyeshot of Main Street.

Guest hereafter referred to as “I” am not an employee of Whitehorseranch, Whitehorse Enterprises, Peter and Maureen Menyhart, the County of San Bernardino, and the towns of Landers and Yucca Valley, CA., and am at the Whitehorseranch voluntarily for a movie production or other activity.

It is hereby agreed to as follows:
I understand that I am responsible for bodily injury and/or property damage that I should sustain while participating in any activity at the Whitehorse Ranch. I am also responsible for my medical expenses and any other expenses incurred as a result of bodily injury and/or property damage. I am responsible for any time I shall lose employment or school or other activity.

I hereby, for myself, my heirs, my administrators and assigns, release and discharge Whitehorse Enterprises, Whitehorse Ranch, Peter and Maureen Menyhart, Brock Morse, Jim Mikelson, the towns of Landers and Yucca Valley, California, the County of San Bernardino and its officers and employees from claims, demands, actions and causes of action for such injuries sustained to my person and my property.

I agree to pay expenses, loss or damage that is incurred to me. I agree to indemnify Whitehorse Ranch, Whitehorse Enterprises, Peter and Maureen Menyhart, Jim Mikelson and Brock Morse. I agree to not bring any claim of legal action whatsoever. I understand that I cannot be insured for such activity. I have NOT been asked to do any movie stunts.

I give my permission to use video or still images of my participation at activities at the ranch.
